Feel free to share any feedback you may have from my suggestions 🙂
Ok, so I know it’s been a long while since my last entry, but get over it. Lol
Today’s topic?…YOUR HAIR IS DEAD!!
Lol but no, really, it is.
Once your hair sprouts, it is technically dead cells and protein. (This is another reason why coating it with any vitamin will NOT help it to grow…You must ingest those vitamins for growth results!)
But…to help make these dead strands be all that it can be in the hair army, there is a solution!
>>>>PROTEIN<<<<
Have you ever combed through your tangles and had loads of crunchy breakage all over your shirt afterwards? Well, protein can totally take care of that!
When done correctly, and used at the appropriate time, it can stop a great portion of breakage and can add a nice shine…
Heres what to do:
-After a nice, vigorous shampoo, and before a cooling condition, add the protein mix to your hair and let it harden. (Do NOT use a plastic cap. Let it air dry)
*******DO NOT COMB THROUGH THE DRIED PROTEIN….this is VERY IMPORTANT!!!! ….lose your hair if you want to….
-When your hair is completely dried, rinse with COOL water (this effectively locks in your new protein)
-Follow up with a DEEP CONDITIONER. this is VERY IMPORTANT.
-Rinse the DEEP CONDITIONER with COOL water as well
-Continue on with your regularly scheduled hair program
"People" say to do this once a month, but I recommend doing this twice a month. Especially if you are living a natural lifestyle.
Now, you may be wondering why you need to add protein to your dead hair, if it is already protein itself….well…
Think of it as reinforcement. Your body is full of water, but to keep it functioning properly, you need at least 8 glasses of them janks right? …Right.
Product recommendation:
Aphogee two step protein treatment. I use it on my clients and on myself. I swear by it.
You dont need a license to buy it and it can be purchased at any beauty supply.

Baking soda has been around for AGES and it’s uses are widely ranged….we put it in our fridge to keep it fresh, we bake with it, it removes stains, it makes for a great laundry detergent, it also helps with insect bites…..but did you know that a box of it should LIVE inside of your beauty basket?
Baking soda is ph balanced and does great things for a person’s body (and compared to what we spend on beauty products every month, its dirt cheap too). Here’s a quick rundown of some of its capabilities….grab a pen.
1. Pour some over your toothpaste and EXPECT whiter teeth.
2. Add some water and swish it around in your mouth, for better breath.
3. Mix a batch of it with water and spread it over your face to fight sunburn, uneven tones, “crater face”, and acne. You can also add some to your own facial scrub, for an extra umph.
4. Although store bought deodorant is highly desired (and favored), if you run out of it, you can spread baking soda under your pits, to neutralize any odor.
5. Soak in it. It makes your skin softer.
6. Add water and brush your nails with it (a nail exfoliate). Cleaner nails make prettier hands.
7. It’s great for pedicures!
8. And last but DEFINITELY not least, it is a GREAT natural shampoo. Just add water and scrub it into your hair and I can guarantee that your hair will be SQUEAKY clean.
…..Oh yes, baking soda. Our dear friend.
“Why wont my hair grow?!”
I tend to hear this a lot….
Well, after years and years of searching high and low for the golden ticket, I’ve finally found the secret!
*end sarcasm here*
Ladies, just take your vitamins and drink lots of water. Plain and simple. The more you take care of your insides, the better it will show on the outside.
There isn’t a shampoo, conditioner, oil, nor special comb that can help your hair better than vitamins can. You may have crushed up some vitamins and put them in your shampoo, but nah, that won’t do anything. That $15 conditioner you purchased with all of that good stuff on the label will NOT make your hair grow. The only thing that any product can do is create a healthier environment, so when your hair does grow, it’s home won’t be janky.
Yes, janky…..
Now heredity DOES play a huge role in the way your hair plays around…if your mom is bald on one side, you’re probably bald too. If your dad’s hair rarely grew, of course you’re going to go through that to a certain degree as well. BUT, taking vitamins allows YOUR hair to be the best that it can be, in ITS army….
Say Big Willi, which vitamins do you suggest?… Well let me tell you..
As a woman, you should already be taking a good multivitamin anyway, but specifically, focus on B vitamins. Biotin (there’s a biotin shot that you can get injected directly into your scalp, also), niacin, and folic acid. These all help promote better hair, skin, and nails. I tell my clients to throw in some fish oil, also. You can grab all of these at any place that sells vitamins. Lol.
And actually, while you are at it, throw in some green, leafy foods as well!
Now, realize that the average growth of hair is half of an inch a month….This totally depends on the blood that runs through your veins though…..so be patient.
But that’s it…..VITAMINS & WATER.

Man, I should have made this my first blog…
Quick lesson for at home shampoos:
When u shampoo, shampoo with warm/ hot water. It opens the cuticles of your strands and allows the shampoo to work…
After you condition, rinse with cool water. It closes the cuticles and locks in the moisture you so vigorously massaged in.
This is a simple, yet effective way to take care of your hair…
Hopefully your stylists already knows this info.
🙂
So, the very first post is dedicated to yogurt.
Ever see those yogurt commercials, where Michael Meyers’ sister is trying to help women become regular? Well I’ve personally never tried that stuff but I hear it does wonders for a body’s insides. But yogurt has another beneficial use…
Ladies, a tub of yogurt can twerk MAGIC into your hair. If you suffer from dry, brittle strands, yes, a few scoops of yogurt can slide you into hair heaven. No, don’t go buying the strawberry banana flavored yogurt lol make sure it’s non flavored, and preferably organic.
Here’s what to do:
-Before shampooing, massage the yogurt into your hair, making sure to rub on your scalp. (side note: massaging your scalp circulates the blood flow, promoting hair growth)
-Wrap your hair into a plastic cap (I personally prefer using Saran wrap)
-Sit under a dryer for a good thirty minutes (at least)
-Proceed to shampoo
Do this once a week, if u have thick, coarse hair, twice every other week if it’s fine, and you should see an incredible difference in texture overtime. And if you REALLY want softer hair, add some honey to that yogurt.
Also….yogurt is a great skin conditioner/moisturizer! Besides adding softness, it helps with premature aging, sunburn, discoloration, and acne.
So after you are done with slopping that yogurt into your hair, massage some onto your CLEAN face (you can add honey and pure lemon juice to this), and watch your soul (skin) glow!
Its great for ALL skin types and I recommend using it only once a week.
*the dryer your face is, add honey. The more oily your face is, and lemon juice.
Sooooo happy soft hair and skin to you!
Feel free to let me know how it turns out 🙂
